Sportsmanship is a crucial aspect of any sports league. It helps maintain fairness, respect, and integrity among athletes, teams, and fans. When a situation arises that threatens the sportsmanship of any league, it is imperative for the league’s governing body to take it seriously and address it promptly and effectively.

The Islamic Institute Ball Hockey League (IIBHL) prides itself on upholding the values of sportsmanship and fair play. As an organization dedicated to maintaining the integrity of Islamic ball hockey, the IIBHL recognizes the importance of addressing and resolving any issues that may arise.

Through its comprehensive system of regulations, monitoring, and enforcement, the IIBHL strives to ensure that the league adhere to the highest standards of sportsmanship. Regular investigations, disciplinary actions, and educational initiatives aim to promote ethical behaviour among athletes, coaches, and officials.

By establishing strict rules and guidelines, encouraging positive competition, and emphasizing the significance of respect and fair play, the IIBHL plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity of the league. It works closely with everyone to create a culture of sportsmanship and to address any situations that may compromise it.

Sportsmanship is not just a desirable attribute but an essential cornerstone of any league. Through the diligent efforts of organizations like the IIBHL, the focus on sportsmanship remains strong, ensuring that athletes and fans can continue to enjoy fair, competitive, and enjoyable sporting experiences.

INNA LILLAHI WA INNA ILAYHI RAJI'UN

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing away of a former IIBHL player - Zakariya Shaikh. Zakariya played in the IIBHL for two seasons ('18-'19, '19-'20) with Al-Ansaar.

The family and loved ones has created a campaign to build water wells in his name. https://www.launchgood.com/campaign/building_water_wells_for_zakariya_shaikh?src=1677096#!/

May Allah forgive his sins and grant him Jannah. May Allah make it easy on the family, having to deal with a tragic loss. Please keep Zakariya and his family in your duo's.

The Janzah is Monday February 13 at Jaame Masjid in Scarborough.

Volunteer Opportunity and Skill Development

The Technology Administration Group (TAG) at the IIT oversees a number of key and critical systems for the broader organization. We’re looking for additional volunteers, ideally high school, college or university students, who would like to join the group in supporting these systems and services. Majority of the work is done remotely and is an excellent way for some to gain volunteer experience/hours in IT systems and services. Some of the tools we are looking to better support are WordPress (our websites), Office365 (SharePoint, OneDrive, Azure, Exchange, Power Suite), and infrastructure solutions such as VMWare Vsphere and FortiGate security products. If you are interested or know someone who is, please reach out to us at tag@islam.ca
